Assisting Responsible Care for Kids (ARCK)
About This Program
The Assisting Responsible Care for Kids (ARCK) program assists separated families to find the best
arrangements for maintaining the relationships between children and their parents.
How We Work / Who Can Use This Program
Separated parents are usually referred to the program by the Family Court (or sometimes by another agency) because conflict between the parents is having an adverse effect on the children. These parents are having serious difficulties negotiating workable arrangements about the children and/or believe that the best arrangements for their children are not being maintained, yet are unable to communicate effectively with each other to resolve these differences or discuss their children’s day to day life.
Staffed by a small group of professionals with expertise in mediation, counselling, family separation and child development, the program works therapeutically with parents to enable a co-operative alliance between them utilising a special process of feedback from their children regarding their needs. The ARCK program is managed jointly by Marymead and Relationships Australia.
